Every LAN may or may not be with WAN.

But ,every WAN is with LAN.

Nowadays various types of computer networks are available with us.According to their purpose,efficiency we can categorize the various networks.There are three major types of networks are there those are MAN( Metropolitan Area Network),LAN(Local Area Network),and WAN (Wide Area Network).

1.MAN:-

It is the Computer Network that interconnects users with resources in a geographic region of the size of Metropolitan Area.The term MAN is applied to the interconnection of Local Area Networks (LAN) in a city into a single larger network which may then also offer efficient connection to a Wide Area Network(WAN).

2.LAN:-

It is a group of Computer and Peripheral devices which are available in a Local and Limited area such as College,Hospital,office etc.It is private network so an outside body cannot controls It. Major advantage of LAN is we can transfer data easily over the networked computers.

3.WAN:-

It is spread across the large geographical area,WAN system could be connection of a LAN which connects other LAN with telephone lines or Radio waves.It is mostly limited to an organization.

Here are some examples to emphasize the above Title:

a.The informative servers in any college that keeps the records of students ,faculties ,Departments are generally private to related college ( example of LAN ).The server can communicates with clients in College may use Wi-Fii facility provided locally to communicate the Information.But when public address to a server is given for Global access it requires Internet(example of WAN).

b.A Net-cafe may have several computers connected LAN.When we search any thing on computer and send the file to the manager of the cafe,we don’t require WAN.But,the Internet used by the cafe which is WAN needs the information about LAN in the cafe to provide the service which is done by router.

c.Computer Labs Present in Institutions may locally share data as they are inter connected with LAN.It do not requires the WAN.

d.In Banks, LAN is present to share the Data .For The customers local to the banks for branch level or District level.But,for storing data globally with high security WAN is formed by interconnecting several LAN from different branches of the bank.

e.In the office LAN is present to sharing printer locally but with WAN that connects all the LAN together the company can share file to the clients globally.As for local sharing they does not require WAN.

Above examples justifies the Statement “Every LAN may or may not be with WAN,But every WAN is with LAN.
